Wood is the only natural resource on earth that is at once renewable, recyclable, biodegradable and re-useable. The energy required to grow trees comes from the sun and because trees are a renewable resource they can be replaced with sustainable forest management, time and time again.

Wood Flooring is the most abundantly renewable flooring material available.

At Floor Design, we take out environmental responsibilities very seriously. We only source products from reputable companies who themselves can demonstrate a responsible approach to the environment through their sourcing and manufacturing polices.

We recently made a commitment to purchase only FSC certified solid and engineered wood flooring. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Certified products are verified from the forest of origin through the supply chain. The FSC label ensures that these products are from responsibly harvested and verified sources.

We strive to offer the newest and most innovative products to our customers as well as those which are safe to use and have minimal impact on the environment.

This is why we stock Bona finishes, adhesives and maintenance treatments for our wooden floors specialists. The Bona range is manufactured in Sweden from where the company pioneered the development of safe, waterborne lacquers back in the 1970’s. Today there are no solvent based products in Bona range.

We also stock Bona’s ergonomically designed sanding machines and the Bona Dust Free Sanding System, a true innovation which delivers totally dust free wooden floor renovation for homes, museums, schools and other dust sensitive environments.

Our customers are supported by access to Bona’s Technical team and, to keep contractors fully informed about new products and innovations from Bona, we hold regular practical demonstrations here in Dublin. Call us for dates of forthcoming events.
